FLYING THE NEST
A Portrush family face the prospect of losing their home after coming off second best in an eight-year battle with planners over a pigeon loft in their back garden. They defied a court order to remove the pigeons. Now a judge has given them six months to either get rid of the birds or sell the house. The couple and their lodger breed the pigeons for racing and shows. Rather than be separated from the birds, they put the house on the market. Gerry Bradley went to visit them.
