THE SLEEPOVER SONG (CALYPSO)

Calypso is a style of Afro-Caribbean music which originated in Trinidad and Tobago.

West Indies on the mapTrinidad was the most important centre of early Calypso, with other artists coming from Jamaica and parts of the West Indies.

Did you know... that Calypso, steel band music, and Soca (soul/calypso) is centred around the carnival season that begins after Christmas and culminates on Carnival Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday.
