Story chainYou are in: North Yorkshire > Entertainment > Books and writing > Story chain > The Story Chain The Story ChainIt's a story, Jim, but not as we know it. And that's because the story chain is written by lots of people, not one. Only the next person in the chain knows where the story's heading. And even then, there's plenty of room for things to change! Lots of us have fancied having a go at writing before, but often the idea of writing a complete tome is somewhat daunting and our good intentions to furnish the literary world with more pages disappear. But what if you didn't have to write a complete tome? What if you shared that responsibility with other people? Would you have a go at it then? As part of a new Writing section on the 大象传媒 North Yorkshire website, we've devised a 'story chain'. Every so often a local writer will provide us with the first paragraph of a story, and it's up to you to take it from there. To give you an idea of how it'll work, we've had a go ourselves. Lizzi Linklater, who runs a writing group at York Library, kindly started us off with a paragraph based on the theme of moving house. As you'll see, the theme of moving soon changed to something rather more sinister! An insight into the minds of us and our colleagues perhaps?! last updated: 27/08/07 You are in: North Yorkshire > Entertainment > Books and writing > Story chain > The Story Chain |
