See the highlights The IceCam revisitedDuring its brief life next to Clifford's Tower in York every Christmas, the Ice Factor lets everyone live out their Torville and Dean fantasy with breathtaking grace and beauty... often for almost five seconds between falls!
Two huge generators powering massive chillers cool enough water to make the Ice Factor, York's temporary outdoor ice rink. The Ice Factor will open for the 2008/2009 season on Saturday 15th November 2008 until Sunday 4th January 2009. While the ice stays cool our webcam will watch over the skaters as they make their way around the ice. At night the ice rink is particularly attractive with colourful lights reflecting off the ice and adorning the tree in the centre of the ice. See some our other webcams: The webcam takes an image every few minutes while the ice rink is open. This short video clip is made up from several weeks of images grabbed from the webcam during the 2006/2007 season. They were then squeezed together to make a stop motion style film. last updated: 14/11/2008 at 11:32 SEE ALSOYou are in: North Yorkshire > Places > North Yorkshire webcams > The IceCam revisited
