Diary 4: The One With The Hair

Second day at the office and, along with my new haircut, I have a new found confidence to finally get down to it and tackle the CMS program!

The main task of the day was to type up a whole load of writing I'd previously done onto the CMS, number one priority being my review of a gig I attended the previous night. The headlining band was The Hair, who have one member from York, so it was a great opportunity to go and see what my city has to offer at the moment.

"'If 30 Seconds To Mars ever did a remake of the Bruce Springsteen ‘Dancing in the Dark’ video, you’d be the Courtney Cox in it'"

- Matt and Martin, More Raw Team

Luckily, the night didn't disappoint, with The Hair being super live and a great band to dance to. I enjoyed them so much in fact that I spent the following day with their track 'Bunny Boiler' on repeat as me and the CMS got to know one another. Six entries later, and I was feeling accomplished!

Working With Elusive Purveyors

The other awesome thing about coming into work on Thursday is that I get to hang around for the More Raw radio show, which is really so much fun as well as being a great learning experience. And it's even more interesting when I get the chance to contribute!

This week, I provided a review of The Hair's gig live on air - daunting to say the least! But I really enjoyed talking away about music – I just hope that someone out their understood what I was saying through my Yorkshire accent!

Changes

The main difference this week was that it was my first week of unemployment. The opportunities offered by Blast are once-in-a-lifetime kind of things, the sort of chances most people could only dream of.

So, I left my job on the Tuesday in order to throw myself fully into the summer, and with the sun finally making an appearance, I can honestly say that the future's bright - the future's Blast!
