Help playing audio/video Leonard Rossiter as Reginald Perrin It opened each week with a naked Reggie walking out into the sea to end it all before rapidly rethinking the whole idea, and told the story of a man desperate to escape his loving but dull marriage, disappointing offspring and the daily grind of his job. Ultimately he does fake his own death, but can't resist attending his own funeral in disguise, and woos his wife Elizabeth all over again. David however, has had a long career. His big break came when he started writing for the 大象传媒 satire show, 'That Was The Week That Was'. He went on to write, amongst others, the 'Pisprununciation monologue' for the Two Ronnies as well as material for Dick Emery, Ken Dodd, Tommy Cooper, Frankie Howerd, Jimmy Tarbuck and Les Dawson. Martin Clunes as Reginald Perrin He's also written many novels including the books about Reggie. Although Leonard Rossiter was seen as the definitive Reginald Perrin in many eyes, the classic sitcom has been updated with Martin Clunes in the title role. David along with Simon Nye has written a fresh, modern and very different Reggie for a whole new audience. last updated: 24/04/2009 at 18:02 SEE ALSOYou are in: North Yorkshire > People > Profiles > Reginald Perrin returns |
