Sarah started rowing while she was at Cambridge University. In 1998 she was handed her first GB vest at the World Rowing Championship. She came a creditable 8th in the women鈥檚 coxed 8 and earned a place at the FISU World University Rowing Championships, claiming silver. In 1999 she went back to the World Rowing Championships and finished one better by claiming 7th place. She was then selected to go to the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000 finishing 9th in the women鈥檚 pair. Returning to the World Rowing Championships in 2002 she finished 5th before collecting her first senior medal at the 2004 Olympic Games when she picked up the Bronze. She followed this up by collecting gold in both the 2005 and 2006 World Rowing Championships. She took part in the 2008 World Cup series coming 5th in Munich in the double and 3rd in Poznan in the eight.
