The Weakest Link is a ratings hit in India

The 大象传媒's format of The Weakest Link maintains its position as the industry's top TV format with the announcement that it has become the eleventh most popular programme in India after its first screening on Star Plus.

The Weakest Link, or Kamzor Kadii Kaun achieved a 21% audience share after the first show on 25th December. Acerbic anchor Neena Gupta's harsh words and style proved a hit. India is now one of 75 countries to have licensed The Weakest Link.

Colin Jarvis, Director of Programming and Operations, 大象传媒 Worldwide said, "The Weakest Link is set to become a great hit in India as it is around the world. Whilst other formats wane, The Weakest Link shows no sign of abating in popularity in all territories."

Peter Mukerjea, CEO STAR India added, "The Weakest Link has demonstrated its success already to a global audience and, given the audience dynamics in India, we expect to see continued ratings not unlike the figures from the first episode."

Kamzor Kadii Kaun offers top prize money of 2.5 million rupees, or nearly 拢40,000. Presenter Neena Gupta is no weakest link herself - she is an award winning actress and director who holds a degree in classical music.
