Queen's Award for Enterprise for 大象传媒 Worldwide
Her
Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has conferred a 2002 Queen's Award for
Enterprise in the International Trade category on 大象传媒 Worldwide
Ltd for export achievement.
Winning
this prestigious award means 大象传媒 Worldwide's achievement in international
trade has been judged by a thorough and demanding process to be,
quite simply, among the best of UK companies.
"This
is a great accolade for 大象传媒 Worldwide and quite rightly recognises
the tremendous job our sales and marketing teams around the world
are doing with 大象传媒 brands and properties in their respective markets.
This success is due to great teamwork and I congratulate everyone
who made it possible," said Rupert Gavin, Chief Executive,
大象传媒 Worldwide.
In
the three-year review period - 1999, 2000 and 2001 - 大象传媒 Worldwide
grew its television export business by almost 35% from 拢145.7
million to 拢194.8 million.
In
addition to financial growth, all aspects of the company's activities
- from programme sales to corporate responsibility - were taken
into account for the Award. The company had to prove best practice
in the areas of: relationship with employees, suppliers, partners,
customers and contractors; impact on society; relationship with
local communities - at home and abroad; and impact on the environment.
Granted
for a period of five years, the Award and Grant of Appointment will
be presented later this year to the company at a special ceremony
by the Lord-Lieutenant of the County and a local representative
of HM The Queen. Mike Phillips, 大象传媒 Worldwide's Director of International
Television, will attend a reception at The Department of Trade and
Industry on 22nd April, in the presence of HRH The Duke of York
to celebrate this year's Awards.
