children's software range launched by 大象传媒 Multimedia
大象传媒
Multimedia, the software publishing arm of 大象传媒 Worldwide, has launched
a budget range including some of its most popular, award-winning
children's PC CD-ROM titles.
The
'Favourites' range, launched on August 23, brings together six titles
from the back catalogue of the Best Children's Software Company
2001*. It represents the only budget software range on the market
dedicated to children's PC software.
The
six children's titles, which provide entertainment and interactive
learning related to some of the most popular children's television
programmes, have won 11 industry awards between them.
All
titles have been commissioned in DVD packaging. Much of the software
in the 'Favourites' range has been re-mastered to support Windows
98, XP and ME, in response to the growing demand for titles running
on the later operating systems.

Tweenies
- Ready to Play
Award winning Tweenies - Ready to Play CD-ROM's five main sections,
including puzzles, games and clips of some of the TV show's best
moments, combine to provide Tweenies fans with hours of fun with
their favourite multicoloured characters. Tweenies - Ready to Play
won the BIMA, Kids Out Best Toy Gold, and Right Start Best Toy Award.
Bob
the Builder - Can we fix it?
This PC CD ROM version of Bob the Builder combines the appeal of
the popular television series with the fun of an interactive format.
The software's eight sections, involving puzzles and tasks with
Bob and the rest of the TV show's characters, help pre-schoolers
to develop hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness and colour recognition
skills. The game's visual appeal - with bright colours and a striking
depth to the graphics - has helped earn the title two industry gold
awards, from BIMA and IVCA.
Bill
and Ben - Flowerpot Fun!
This title's games and tasks, involving the terracotta twosome,
are designed to stimulate young minds and encourage play - both
inside and outside the house. With five games, and a bank of clips
from the updated state-of-the-art animated television show, the
CD-ROM features voiceovers by Cold Feet star John Thomson and, in
contrast to the original version, Bill and Ben's friend Weed now
also has a voice!
Yoho
Ahoy - All Aboard
Making the transition from the television to the computer screen,
shipmates Jones, Grog, Booty, Poop, Bilge, Jones and Cutlass will
delight pre-schoolers with their adventures on the high seas aboard
their Galleon, the Rubber Duck. This CD-ROM features games and activities
including on-screen musical chairs, a musical recording game, an
art package, featuring the most loveable TV pirates. All the elements
of this CD-ROM have been especially designed for very young users
and has a simple, clear and easy-to-use format.
Pingu
- A Barrel of Fun
Winner of an IVCA Silver Award, Right Start Best Toy Award and silver
in the Toybox Good Toy Guide, A Barrel of Fun combines entertainment
with education through games designed to support the National Curriculum
Key Stage One. It features games to help children's counting, spelling,
sound and colour recognition, among the 10 great activities and
5 colourful screen-savers - which include a tell the time screen-saver.
Teletubbies
- Favourite Games
This beautifully rendered and animated CD-ROM contains five fun
activities aimed at helping young children interact with their favourite
TV characters. Help them in a game of hide and seek, select the
music and moves for their exercise, watch educational video clips
through the Tubbies' tummies, help the Teletubbies play at rolling
down the hill, and make tubby custard for tea!
