Rolf
Harris
With
over 7 million viewers, Rolf On Art was watched by more people than
any other 大象传媒 arts programme in history. In his own inimitable way
he has brought the lives and works of some of the world's best-loved
artists to life, exploring their methods and techniques, then painting
his own pictures in their style.
Now,
in this book to accompany his new 大象传媒1 series, you can share Rolf's
boundless enthusiasm at firsthand by looking over his shoulder as
he produces seven paintings to demonstrate his own easy-to-follow
painting methods in close-up detail. Complete with advice on materials
and equipment, simple exercises to try at home and a special section
on frequently asked questions, Rolf On Art will have people reaching
for their paintbrushes and achieving fantastic results in next to
no time.
Containing
all his paintings from both series as well as many previously unseen
originals, this book is sure to delight anyone who is interested
in art and will inspire amateur artists everywhere.
For
nearly 50 years, Rolf Harris has probably done more to interest
the UK population in art than any other TV broadcaster. He has a
background in Fine Art and has exhibited at the Royal Academy. Formally
trained in the UK, he attended the City & Guilds Art School
in London during the 1950s. Later, inspired by Australian impressionist
Hayward Veal, he began to develop his own characteristic, free-flowing
style. Rolf has been awarded both an MBE and OBE. He is a Member
of the Order of Australia, and in September 2000 received honorary
membership of the Royal Society of British Artists.
