wins new business from Sunday Times and Pearson
Galleon
has won the subscriptions business for the Sunday Times聮 new
stand-alone monthly travel magazine.
As well as this prestigious new contract, the Sittingbourne-based
subscriptions fulfilment company this year also won the subscriptions
business for Hello! magazine and Private Eye. As well as the magazine
itself, Galleon handles Private Eye聮s merchandise and during
November sold more than 拢30,000 worth of mugs, Christmas cards,
annuals and other books via its innovative electronic subscriptions
system, subscribeONLINE. Overall, the system handled more than 拢400,000
worth of transactions in the run-up to Christmas.
The
Sunday Times聮 new stand-alone glossy title Travel - a brand
extension for the Sunday Times聮 Travel section - will be published
by River and is due to launch in January.
Says Galleon's Managing Director Mandy Thwaites: "We are delighted
to have won this prestigious contract. New clients are attracted
by our database management capabilities and electronic subscriptions
system and 2003 will see us embrace new technology still further,
for example with a unique SMS system enabling publishers to use
their mobile phones to keep track of how many live subscriptions
