Dead Ringers - Series 1

VHS and DVD Release: 7th July 2003

"A masterly mix of impressions and top-notch writing" Daily Mail

Ransacking the worlds of politics and broadcasting in the name of comedy, no public figure is safe from the acutely accurate impressions of Jon Culshaw, Jan Ravens, Phil Cornwell, Kevin Connelly and Mark Perry. They give a special twist to Robbie Williams, Nigella Lawson, Russell Crowe, Ross Kemp, David Dickinson, Johnny Vegas, Thora Hird, Ian McKellan, Judi Dench, Iain Duncan Smith, Alan Rickman, Dale Winton, Brian Sewell, Arnold Schwazenegger and many more besides.

Dead Ringers brings viewers into the realms of the unusual and fantasy where there's Domestic Goddess Nigella Lawson (Jan Ravens) teasing and tantalising her way through a tax return; a touchy-feely Russell Crowe (Jon Culshaw) with his own philosophy of life; Iain Duncan Smith (Kevin Connelly) and his amazing powers of making people fall asleep; Bargain Hunt's David Dickinson (Mark Perry) asking 'Is It Because I Is Orange?'; and Alan Rickman (Phil Cornwall) appears as the bad guy in yet another starring role.

It's the series where viewers see famous faces in the most unusual of places - 'Michael Parkinson' interviews people at the bus stop; 'Robin Cook' does cabaret, and 'Gladiator' swaps the Roman amphitheatre for a building site. Plus, favourite shows also get a new twist from the Dead Ringers cast when The Elephant Man goes on Would Like To Meet while Dr. Who befriends the Daleks.

DVD extra's include the pilot episode first transmitted in early 2002 and scene selection.
