Magazines launch for Royal Opera House
大象传媒
Magazines has won a prestigious contract from the Royal Opera House
to produce a new magazine aimed at keeping its members up to date
on news and performance information.
About
the House will be produced five times a year and directly mailed
to over 30,000 Friends and other members of the Royal Opera House,
beginning with the first issue in mid June 2003. The perfect-bound
title will provide information and features covering the whole range
of activities from the companies of The Royal Opera, The Royal Ballet,
ROH虏 , Education and Access and specific membership events
As
well as providing invaluable details about future productions and
programmes in both opera and ballet, the magazine aims to encourage
ticket sales and membership renewal for the House. It will also
offer details about exclusive discounts and tickets to attend open
rehearsals. Features will demonstrate the role of Friends (and their
donations) in the outreach and educational work undertaken by the
House.
Ashley
Munday, Publishing Director for 大象传媒 Magazines' Interests Group,
said: "The Royal Opera House's decision to award the publishing
of About the House to 大象传媒 Magazines provides a major endorsement
of our growing partner publishing reputation and is a reflection
of the huge editorial resources and talent we have within our specialist
interest titles and arts group in particular."
In
1999, 大象传媒 Worldwide published a souvenir one-shot magazine to mark
the reopening of the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and handled
the international distribution of broadcasts to celebrate the occasion.
大象传媒 Worldwide entered into a joint venture with the ROH, with a
significant investment agreement for distribution and licensing
rights for broadcast and audio-visual productions, and went on to
release opera and ballet DVDs in conjunction with the Royal Opera
House.
About the House is the fourth major launch from 大象传媒 Magazines this
year. In April there was Radio Times spin-off Smart TV and Pop Girl
and, on 8 May, another children's title: Action Hero.
Notes
to Editors:
Since 2000, 大象传媒 Magazines has published a 36-page magazine for London's
South Bank Centre, which incorporates the Royal Festival Hall. Over
100,000 thousand copies of southbank are distributed each month.
