Music and arts programming package sells to Artsworld

Cecilia Bartoli, Sister Wendy, Kandinsky and Simone de Beauvoir are just some past and present luminaries of the music and arts world that will feature on Artsworld, following a new deal with 大象传媒 Worldwide to license a 100 hour programming package to the channel.

The programming, previously featured on 大象传媒 TV channels will be made available to subscribers of the channel, which is broadcast via Sky Digital, from 1st June.

The music and arts package includes a number of profiles of the greats in their field, such as Andre Previn, Lee Strasberg and Jane Austen. Artsworld will also screen a number of 大象传媒 dramas including several acclaimed 大象传媒 Shakespeare productions, Jude the Obscure, After Miss Julie, and Genghis Cohn starring Robert Lindsay and Anthony Sher.

"Continuing to open up the 大象传媒's archive in this way gives British audiences another chance to view this rich mix of music and arts titles" says Rupert Gavin, Chief Executive of 大象传媒 Worldwide.

John Hambley, Director of Artsworld says "We are very happy to have this excellent material from the 大象传媒 archive to add to our existing high-quality range".

The deal was brokered by Simon Danker, Head of UK and Eire Television for 大象传媒 Worldwide and James Wills, Artsworld's Head of Acquisitions.
