Dancing with the Stars Tops 61st Primetime Emmy Award® Reality Nominations

´óÏó´«Ã½ Worldwide Productions Dancing with the Stars, received 10 61st Primetime Emmy Award nominations - more than any other reality show, it was announced today by the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences. This is the fourth consecutive year that the show has received a nomination for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program.

Additionally, Dancing with the Stars' host and veteran television personality, Tom Bergeron, was nominated in the Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program category for the second year in a row.

Dancing with the Stars also received nominations in the following categories:

  • Outstanding Choreography
  • Outstanding Music Direction
  • Outstanding Hairstyling For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special
  • Outstanding Makeup For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special (Non-Prosthetic)
  • Outstanding Lighting Direction (Electronic, Multi-Camera) For Variety, Music Or Comedy Programming
  • Outstanding Short Form Picture Editing
  • Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Variety Or Music Series Or Special
  • Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Series

Dancing with the Stars is the U.S. version of the ´óÏó´«Ã½â€™s international smash hit series, Strictly Come Dancing, where celebrities are paired with professional ballroom dance instructors and compete for a coveted mirror ball trophy. The teams are judged, critiqued and scored by a panel of dance experts - renowned ballroom judge Len Goodman, and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris host. Dancing with the Stars is produced by ´óÏó´«Ã½ Worldwide Productions for ABC. Conrad Green serves as executive producer and Rob Wade and Matilda Zoltowski are co-executive producers. Alex Rudzinski is director.

Dancing with the Stars will enter its ninth season on ABC September 21, 2009.
