New consultant editor for Radio Times

Radio Times editor Ben Preston has appointed Gill Morgan, one of Britain's most distinguished magazine journalists, as a consultant editor on Britain's best-selling quality magazine.

Morgan launched and edited The Times' first glossy magazine for 11 years, winning a wealth of awards and introducing an incredible stable of writers from Nigella Lawson to Giles Coren. In 2007, she launched The Times Luxx magazine and in 2008 was made Assistant Editor (Magazines) of The Times.

Ben Preston said, "It's fantastic to have a journalist with Gill's track record working on Radio Times. She'll bring big ambitious ideas, flair and her unrivalled contacts book, to give the magazine the added zing that readers will notice and enjoy."

Commenting on her new role, Gill Morgan said, "Radio Times is a very special magazine, with an amazing heritage, great integrity, a real sense of fun and huge reach. I'm thrilled to be joining Ben Preston and the team at such an exciting time in the title's development."

Gill Morgan started her career in women's magazines at Company magazine, before moving on to newspapers. She became assistant features editor of the Sunday Express Magazine, then Women's Editor of the Sunday Express, before moving to The Times as Deputy Editor of the then Saturday Review. She has won two British Society of Magazine Editors Awards, including the prestigious Editors' Editor award in 2000.
