´óÏó´«Ã½ Worldwide appoints new formats Acquisitions Manager

´óÏó´«Ã½ Worldwide, the commercial arm of the ´óÏó´«Ã½, today announced the appointment of Alice Hughes into the newly-created position of formats Acquisitions Manager.

Reporting to Matt Paice, EVP, International Production, Hughes will be charged with fostering new relationships with independent producers and rights holders internationally, to develop formats and concepts for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Worldwide's production network and format licensing.

Paice said of the appointment: "Alice has a terrific knowledge of the international formats and production marketplace so I'm delighted she's making this move to work on our new programming strategy."

Hughes added: "I am really excited at the opportunity to be working at the coalface of television with some of the industry's most creative minds. We have a strong formats catalogue with some of the world’s most recognised brands and I look forward to further building on this."

Hughes moves into the role from her former position of Senior Sales Executive at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Worldwide, in which she was responsible for sales of formats into EMEA, taking hit format Dancing with the Stars into Scandinavia, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Middle East and Portugal.

Prior to that Hughes worked as a Sales Executive for Test the Nation producer, Eyeworks, and in Worldwide Production at FremantleMedia on formats such as X-Factor, PokerFace and Idols.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Worldwide markets a formats catalogue including renowned titles, Dancing with the Stars, Top Gear, The Office, Baby Borrowers and The Week the Women Went.

Hughes' new position is effective immediately and she will be attending RealScreen at the end of January within this capacity.
