said: "The last time I was asked to host a breakfast show (大象传媒
Radio Five聮s Morning Edition) I had the most enjoyable two
years of my career. Now here we go again. It聮s difficult to
shoe horn the odd and provocative material we engineer on Saturdays
into one three hour slot. The e-mails and calls are sometimes still
coming in days later and by the next week I always forget what we
were talking about. For example, why don聮t people ride zebras?
I聮ve just remembered I asked that at the end of the Christmas
show and then forgot to pursue it. Well, no such danger now.
"From
now on, when 大象传媒 London ask the listeners in this great Metropolis
why people don聮t ride zebras we聮ll be right across the
subject. Yes, there will be perhaps more pressing matters being
expertly dealt with by the news team during my show but, by God,
we聮ll also find out why people don聮t ride zebras too.
Besides what a joy it will be to be able to vent my, admittedly
peculiar, views about current football results, all still fresh
as a daisy. Anyway that聮s how we聮re going to approach
it. Radio plus News. But we promise we won聮t beat you over
the head with it."

London 94.9 Managing Editor David Robey said: "Danny Baker
is unique - a true radio genius - so I'm delighted he's taking over
the breakfast show on 大象传媒 London 94.9. It'll be the best breakfast
show in London - all the news, travel, sport and entertainment news
you need to start your day. Oh, and Danny - he should put a smile
on your face as you face the daily grind. An unmissable combination
that will certainly get Londoners talking!"
Notes
to Editors
Danny
Baker is a native Londoner, from Deptford. He is a Sony Gold Award
winner, a TRIC award winner, has twice been awarded the Gold Medal
at the New York Radio Festival. He is one of Britain聮s most
sought after script writers, writing for among others Angus Deayton,
Jonathan Ross, Jeremy Clarkson and Chris Evans. Danny also has written
a weekly column for the Times for nearly five years. Then there聮s
all those Daz adverts... so he聮s clearly worth a few quid too.
