Sweeney sings the movies on Radio 2

大象传媒 Radio 2 brings exclusive coverage of Claire Sweeney singing songs from the silver screen. The concert, part of this year's Summer Pops season, takes place at the Big Top Arena at Liverpool's Kings Dock on Wednesday 17 July.

The concert is broadcast on Radio 2 on Friday 19 July from 7.30-9.15pm as part of the Friday Night is Music Night series.

Accompanied by the sounds of the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra conducted by Carl Davis, Sweeney, fresh from her success in the stage-show Chicago, sings a range of the most memorable songs from the movies including My Heart Will Go On from Titanic, Evergreen from A Star is Born and The Look of Love from Casino Royale.

She is joined on stage by fellow Liverpudlian star Graham Bickley, familiar to television audiences as Joey from the hit series Bread. Together they perform Baby It's Cold Outside from Neptune's Daughter and We've Got Tonight from The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Orchestral arrangements include Lara's Theme from Doctor Zhivago, and the main themes of Chariots of Fire and The Magnificent Seven.

The concert is introduced by Radio 2's very own Ken Bruce, who says "I'm really looking forward to this concert - great music, great performers, in a great city. Who could ask for more?"

Claire Sweeney is best known for her part as Lindsay Corkhill in Brookside and for her part in Celebrity Big Brother in which she became one of Britain's best loved celebrities.

She says about this event "I'm really looking forward to the show. Singing some of my all-time favourite movie songs will be a real thrill especially as it's back home. It聮s something a bit different, and the first time I perform on such a big stage in Liverpool!"

Tickets are available from the Summer Pops Hotline on 08707 460 000 or through the website at . (The 大象传媒 is not responsible for the content of external internet sites)
