大象传媒's Drama Sinners Scoops Five Magnolia Awards at The Shanghai TV Festival

大象传媒 Northern Ireland Drama scores again

Sinners, the powerful 大象传媒 ONE drama, cleaned up at this year's Magnolia Awards at the Shanghai TV Festival (14 June 14 2002), beating off competition from thirteen other international films to win Best TV Drama.

Writer Lizzie Mickery (Messiah - Vengeance is Mine, Messiah, The Beggar Bride, The Ice House) received the award for Best Screenplay, Aisling Walsh (Forgive and Forget, The Governess, Joyriders) picked up the award for Best Director and Anne-Marie Duff (Amongst Women, Trial and Retribution, Enigma and Aristocrats) won the Magnolia for Best Actress.

Sinners also picked up the Magnolia for Best Technology, making it this year's biggest winner.

Also starring Tina Kellegher, Bronagh Gallagher, Ger Ryan, Ruth McCabe and John Kavanagh, Sinners is a fictional story set against the real background of the Magdalen Laundries in Ireland in the 1960's.

The 大象传媒 Northern Ireland/Parallel Films Production was produced by Alan Moloney (Amongst Women, Beckett on Film C4, A Love Divided).

Executive producers are Robert Cooper (Amongst Women, As the Beast Sleeps, Rebel Heart) and Kate Triggs (Amongst Women, Any Time Now, Eureka Street).

The annual Shanghai TV Festival is designed to encourage better mutual understanding, strengthen friendship among people from different countries and regions and stimulate the development of the television industry.
