Second series of Linda Green starts filming for 大象传媒 ONE
She's
back.
Red
Production Company has gone into production with a second series
of Paul Abbott's comedy drama for 大象传媒 ONE, Linda Green, it
was announced today by Jane Tranter, 大象传媒 Controller of Drama Commissioning.
When
Liza Tarbuck's Linda Green hit television screens last year men
and women alike breathed a sigh of relief.
She's
pretty, funny and feisty, well dressed, man-mad, allergic to commitment,
and a great mate.
Someone
you'd want to know, someone who'll be there when you're crying and
always be up for a night on the town.
Thirty-something
Linda is having the time of her life with a group of great friends,
she's uninhibited and out to enjoy herself.
The
superb cast are also returning: Claire Rushbrook as best friend
Michelle, Sean Gallagher as her let's-have-sex-with-no-commitment
mate Jimmy, and Daniel Ryan as Darren, Michelle's partner and father
of their two kids.
Linda's
down-to-earth parents Frank and Iris are played by Dave Hill and
Rachel Davies and her younger sister Katy is played by Jessica Harris.
They
are joined by special guest stars Peter Kay as Eddie, the pizza
delivery man with a natural flare for feng shui; Meera Syal as Sukie
a compulsive campaigner against war, against cruelty to animals,
against everything; Jane Horrocks as Teresa, an old school friend;
Jamie Theakston as Andy who takes a shine to marketing Linda's attributes;
and Jeremy Sheffield as Stan, the handsome and apparently perfect
man Linda meets on a blind date.
In
this series Michelle and Darren find that a new baby and a future
wedding put the strain on even their fantastic relationship, Linda's
unique bond with her dad Frank is put under pressure and Jimmy has
to face the question: can he and Linda be "just good friends"
forever?
Linda
Green, currently filming in and around Manchester, is produced by
Phil Collinson (Born and Bred) for 大象传媒 ONE.
Executive
producers are Nicola Shindler for Red Production Company and Sally
Woodward Gentle for 大象传媒.
Series
creator and award-winning screenwriter Paul Abbott is joined by
writers Daniel Brocklehurst, Chris Bucknall, Tom Higgins, and Chris
McHallem for the second series.
