24
Hour London - The 大象传媒 London Photo Competition
大象传媒
London is embarking on an ambitious new competition - encapsulating
London, the 24 hour city in a series of photographs taken
from dawn to dusk - and we are asking 大象传媒 London's listeners, viewers
and online users to take the photos on Tuesday 1 October.
Personal or picturesque; events or street scenes; black and white
or colour, 大象传媒 London wants a vivid view of London on one particular
day.
We've
also asked some prominent London people to take photos on that day
and we'll be auctioning their photographs to raise money for Children
in Need.
Claire Sweeney, Graham Norton and Sir Terence Conran will be in
London snapping away for Children in Need and 大象传媒 London's Emily
Maitlis and Brenda Emmanus will join Danny Baker and Jon Gaunt in
taking their own personal shots of London on 1 October.
Prizes
include a digital camera for the adult category and a camera for
the under 16's together with special prizes for those winners who
take photos in the early and late hours of the day (12.01 to 4.00am
and 10.00pm to midnight).
Selected entries will be displayed in the Covent Garden Transport
Museum and in Piccadilly Circus Tube station as part of the London
Underground Platform for Art programme next Spring.
Judges include Dennis Morris, international photographer; David
Ofield, Picture Editor of the Evening Standard and Liz O'Sullivan,
Arts Manager, Platform for Art.
大象传媒
London Executive Editor, Jane Mote said : "The judges have
been consistently impressed with both the great range and high standard
of entries submitted to our previous competitions.
"This year we want to go all out to create something special
that will be a lasting reminder of Londoners' images of London across
one particular day.
"We chose 1 October because that's the date that we launched
大象传媒 London last year, so we're giving people lots of notice to get
their cameras out and get ready for the visual documentation of
24 hour London."
Entry
details and rules are available at
Photographs and digital images must be submitted by 30 November
