Great
Britons - Diana now in first place
In
the heaviest night of voting yet on Great Britons, Diana has stormed
to the top of the poll with over 100,000 votes being cast for her
since Rosie Boycott's programme went out on 大象传媒 TWO last night.
Diana
has now surged ahead into first place from fifth, pushing previous
leader Brunel into second place.
Diana
had more votes last night than any other of the contenders achieved
after the programme from their advocate went out.
And
Diana is particularly popular among women: 70% of women voting placed
their vote for her last night, and overall nearly 50% of women have
their vote for Diana.
Amongst
men, Diana trails in a lowly fourth with only 10% of their votes.
Rosie
Boycott says, "I'm so glad that viewers are voting for people
who did not go to war, or mutilate people and who had a different
kind of achievement."
Presenter
of the final results programme, Anne Robinson, however, is not impressed:
"I despair. It just goes to show you how the weak yield.
"This
is a democratic vote so you have to take the results on the chin.
Nevermind, I am sure lots of people who never intended to vote will
now do so just to topple Diana from the top."
