ABOUT THE 大象传媒

大象传媒 raises Voices across the UK

An ambitious new venture which will give a voice to communities right across the UK has been unveiled by the 大象传媒's Director of Nations and Regions, Pat Loughrey.

Using radio, television and online, Voices will further strengthen the connections between the 大象传媒 in the Nations and Regions and the audiences they serve.

Working directly with nearly 50 communities on local projects, Voices will give people an opportunity to tell their stories.

"Voices will find creative ways of capturing the stories, concerns and aspirations of people who may be disenfranchised or dispossessed but who have strong views and ideas and rich experiences to share on radio, on television, and online," says Pat Loughrey of the 拢1 million investment.

Gloria Abramoff, Executive Editor, says: "Voices will become part of the daily journalism throughout the Nations and Regions. We want to give our journalists more time to work in their communities, to get to know them better and to challenge listeners' preconceptions."

Voices will find a diverse range of new contributors through even closer links with local communities.

大象传媒 journalists will be working directly with local schools, colleges, community centres, shelters, arts and environmental groups and a whole range of other organisations.

"Voices will take us even deeper into the local communities we serve, building trust with under-served audiences. They will tell us what they want to talk about, what is important to them and what action they want to take," says Gloria Abramoff.

"We'll then work with them to facilitate change, from transforming a physical space, neglected or abused, into a working area for the community, to running practical workshops on a range of subjects".

The venture is a development from the successful A Sense of Place series which ran across the 大象传媒聮s Nations and Regions last year.
