NORTH WEST REGIONAL TV

大象传媒 North West Sports Awards 聟 make your vote count

Last year, Liverpool's Michael Owen was voted Sportsman of the Year, Paul Sculthorpe was Rugby League Player for 2001, and high jumper Susan Jones was Sportswoman. Who is your choice for 2002?

This is your opportunity to vote for the people you think are worthy of the region's most exciting sporting titles.

The 大象传媒 is looking across a wide range of sports to find the Team, Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year and the Best Newcomer in Manchester, Liverpool and Lancashire.

2002 has been a tremendous showcase for sport in the region with the success of the Commonwealth Games and the large number of sports which find their home in the North West.

The results will be revealed at an evening of sporting celebration on 2 December attended by the region's top sports personalities at the De Vere Whites Hotel at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton.

Awards are decided from the public vote and the choices of the editorial panel which is made up of sports editors from 大象传媒 local radio and television and three of the region's main newspapers.

大象传媒 North West Tonight sports presenter, Sally Nugent, says this year the competition for awards is intense.

"The region has had a fantastic sporting year with several new faces breaking through to national prominence in several sports," she says.

"I wouldn't like to put money on the winners of the different categories as the competition is so close. It all adds up to an exciting finale for this year's awards."

Now is the time to vote for your favourites online and be entered for a draw to win tickets for the big event on Monday 2 December.

Who will be your choice for 2002?
