Abandoned
cars help raise money for charity
Abandoned
cars in the Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire areas
are to star in a highly unusual 2003 calendar to raise money for
大象传媒 Children in Need.
'Minging
Motors 2003' is the idea of 大象传媒 Three Counties Radio breakfast
show presenter Nick Lawrence, who previously highlighted the problem
of dumped cars by asking listeners to phone in with details of the
whereabouts of the car and then to put a 'Nick Lawrence Aware' sticker
on it.
Posing
with one the vehicles is Lucy Layton, who has just returned to the
UK from Libya where she won the 'Miss Net World' competition. She
is seen with an abandoned camper van.
Nick
Lawrence and his 'sidekick' Justin Dealey also appear on the calendar
next to an abandoned car at Marsh Farm, Luton, naked except for
a strategically placed 'Nick Lawrence Aware' sticker.
Nick
says: "We will probably use the photograph of me and Justin
for February as it's the month for romance, but also it's a short
month so people won't have to look at our ugly mugs for too long!"
There
are just 495 calendars available which can be obtained by making
a donation to Children in Need. Cheques (made payable to 'Children
in Need') should be sent to:
