Cutting
It - 大象传媒 ONE's hit drama series - is back!
Sarah
Parish, Amanda Holden, Angela Griffin, Jason Merrells and Ben Daniels
return in Debbie Horsfield's popular 大象传媒 ONE drama series Cutting
It, currently filming in Manchester until March 2003.
Viewers
were left stunned after the final episode of the last series when
Allie Henshall walked out on husband Gavin Ferraday (Jason Merrells)
in favour of first love Finn Bevan (Ben Daniels).
But
has Allie made the right choice? Will Finn remain faithful? Enjoying
his new-found freedom, Gavin uses any means possible to get Allie
out of his system!
With
husband Finn living with rival Allie, Mia Bevan (Amanda Holden)
is a woman seeking revenge.
With
no job, no home and very few friends, the ever-resourceful and conniving
Mia is secretly on the warpath. The
Manchester hairdressing wars have only just begun.
At
the same time, Mia's mother Zinnia (Cherie Lunghi) arrives
on the scene to provide some much-needed moral support.
But
Zinnia's colourful past threatens to upstage Mia's squeaky-clean
image.
Finally,
Darcey (Angela Griffin) has ideas above her station, providing some
additional spice to the new series.
"It
was no surprise to us that Debbie Horsfield's Cutting It was a huge
hit earlier this year," says Jane Tranter, Controller of Drama
Commissioning.
"The
series really punched through and became part of the nation's consciousness.
The new series will shock and entertain in equal measures. It's
Debbie at her best."
The
cast also includes Sian Reeves as Sydney, Henshall Ferraday's resident
nail technician. Lucy Gaskell is Ruby, Allie and Finn's troubled
teenage daughter.
Annette
Badland is Brawdie Henshall; Bill Thomas is Tom Henshall; Pearce
Quigley is Eugene and James Midgley is Shane.
As
well as Cherie Lunghi, also joining the cast this series is Ronny
Jhutti as Remi, Henshall Ferraday's new hairstylist.
Writer
Debbie Horsfield says: "The challenge - and the attraction
- of a second series is to be able to up the stakes and push the
characters and narrative to even greater extremes.
"Allie's
decision to leave Gavin has consequences more shocking than she
could ever have envisaged, and not a single character comes away
unscathed in the inevitable fall-out. It's safe to say, the party
has only just begun!"
Produced
by Diederick Santer, the directors are Andy De Emmony, Roger Goldby
and Julie-Anne Robinson.
The
executive producers are Sally Haynes, Debbie Horsfield (Making Out,
The Riff-Raff Element and Born To Run) and Head of Drama Serials
Laura Mackie.
