animated series: Popetown
Popetown
is a ten-part animated sitcom that looks at the daily nuisances
that exist in any workplace - with one twist.
This
workplace is the Vatican and the CEO happens to be the Pope.
Popetown
centres around the long-suffering and good hearted Father Nicholas
(Kevin Eldon - Brass Eye, I'm Alan Partridge, Big Train) and his
daily struggle against life's ups and downs.
Ruby
Wax is the voice of the Pope, Jerry Hall plays Sister Penelope,
the Popetown TV reporter, and Morwenna Banks is Sister Marie, Father
Nicholas's devoted and innocent assistant.
The
cast also includes Matt Lucas (Shooting Stars, Rock Profiles), Mackenzie
Crook (The Office) and Simon Greenall (Alan Partridge).
A
commission for 大象传媒 THREE from CHX Productions and French TV company,
Moi J鈥檃ime La Television, Popetown is directed by Phil Ox
(MJTV) and features the writing talents of Mackenzie Crook and David
Quantick.
Popetown
comes to 大象传媒 THREE in 2004.
