in-house entertainment looks forward to 2003
大象传媒
in-house entertainment is to refocus into four new areas, strengthening
its relationship with commissioners and controllers by creating
four "one stop shops".
Wayne
Garvie, Head of Entertainment Group, will appoint Creative Heads
to run Format Entertainment, Entertainment Events and Factual Entertainment.
Mark
Cooper, currently Editor Music, becomes creative head for Music
Entertainment and continues to lead the field in music programming
for all 大象传媒 channels.
These
changes start in January 2003.
The
Heads will act as creative leaders, building on the current relationship
with commissioners and controllers and working alongside the entertainment
Editors in focusing development to meet Controllers' needs, maximising
creativity and turning ideas into successful programmes.
大象传媒
Manchester Entertainment output will be brought into the Entertainment
group fold for the first time as a way of ensuring Manchester is
at the centre of development and able to work on delivering long
running returning series.
Helen
Bullogh, as Editor, Manchester Factual Entertainment, and her team
will be part of Factual Entertainment and Phil Parsons, as Editor,
Manchester Entertainment, will be part of Format Entertainment.
Helen
Bullogh will also take up the new role of Managing Editor, Manchester
Entertainment with special responsbility for staffing and site issues
in Manchester.
Wayne
Garvie, Head of Entertainment Group, said: "We're refocusing
to ensure 大象传媒 Entertainment leads the way in creating new ideas,
selling those ideas and executing them.
"We
have a tremendously rich heritage, some brilliant existing programmes
and this will help us to deliver the next generation of Entertainment
hits to the 大象传媒 in 2003."
The
comedy department, led by Jon Plowman and Sophie Clarke Jervoise,
will continue to work alongside the in-house entertainment department.
This refocus does not affect comedy.

Format
Entertainment
This
contains the existing light entertainment area, Manchester Entertainment
and the Format Factory.
Programmes
from here include Friends Like These, National Lottery Jet Set,
Dog Eat Dog. Format Entertainment's role will be primarily to develop
programmes for 大象传媒 ONE, Daytime and 大象传媒 THREE.
Entertainment
Events
This
includes Talks and Specials and Mainstream Entertainment. Programmes
include Parkinson, Eurovision Song contest, BAFTA Television Awards,
The Sketch Show Story.
Music
Entertainment
Mark
Cooper becomes creative head and continue to run this area.
This
will includes all music output, including Top of the Pops and the
Top Of The Pops Awards, Later with Jools Holland, Glastonbury and
music documentaries.
Factual
Entertainment
This
includes Archive Entertainment, Manchester Factual Entertainment
and the New Development unit.
Programmes
include Outtakes TV, There's Only One..., Before They were Famous,
Celebdaq and 2002 TV Moments.
