1Xtra
reveals its plans for New Year's Eve live music marathon
December
31st 2002 will be the first ever New Year's Eve for 1Xtra, the new
digital station from the 大象传媒.
To
mark the occasion the network will be broadcasting live from across
the country bringing listeners the best in new black music from
the hottest venues nationwide from eleven at night until six in
the morning.
The
seven hour music marathon will begin at Creation in Bristol where
Rampage will play a two hour set of the best in RnB, Hip Hop, Garage
and Dancehall.
At
one o'clock we will cross to Sugar in the heart of Newcastle, where
G Child, Ronnie Herel and Diggz will be tearing the club down until
four in the morning when the party moves to its final destination
at The Palace in Swansea.
Here
Richie Vee will be keeping things bubbling with some of the toughest
new Garage around.
Ray
Paul, Executive Producer for specialist & live, 1Xtra, said:
"When
you look at the line up we have got for New Year's Eve you realise
pretty quickly that we are offering our listeners a snapshot of
some of the best clubs and music on offer that night.
"If
you can't be there in person then you will certainly get a real
taste of the atmosphere from our live broadcast."
Rampage
added: "It will be great to bring in the New Year live on air.
We
are performing at a lot of different venues that night but this
one is going to be the maddest!
"Our
aim is to bring a little bit of the energy to listeners wherever
they may be in the whole country."
