Wales personality Roy Noble has been invited to the Carmarthenshire
residential home, and has decided to bring along his microphone
and broadcast his live morning show from there on 大象传媒 Radio Wales
on Tuesday 17 December.
With
special guests Bury Port Male Voice Choir, 2002 Eisteddfod champions
Bury Port Town Band and Kidwelly rugby legend Ray Gravell dropping
in, residents are guaranteed an action-packed morning with the broadcaster
who hails from Brynamman.
Bryn
Illtyd owner Richard James, who runs the 30-bed home with his wife
Marion, says that Roy and his guests are guaranteed a warm West
Walian welcome from the residents who enjoy listening to the daily
show on Radio Wales.
"One
of our residents, Peter Jackson, often writes into Roy's show and
has his words read out on the air," explains Richard.
"And
there's a lady here, Mrs Cecily Bowen, who says she's been listening
to Roy since he first started on Radio Wales 20 years ago.
"I
think he's sure to get a very warm reception from everyone here."
And
Roy is just as excited about his forthcoming trip.
"They
say one of the biggest steps in life is to meet people halfway 聳
and we're going all the way to meet them, which is even better,"
he says.
"It's
always a pleasure to meet the people face to face who make my job
worthwhile 聳 without them it'd all be a pointless exercise.
"And
my father used to drive buses taking workers to Pembrey so I used
to see its name on the buses - and although I didn't know where
it was then, I've visited many times by now."
