EAST REGIONAL TV

大象传媒 Look East searches for the TV stars of the future

Budding young TV journalists are being offered an opportunity to jump-start their careers, thanks to an exciting new 大象传媒 Look East competition for secondary schools.

The 大象传媒's regional television news programme is launching the Schools Media Challenge 2003 on tonight's programme on 大象传媒 ONE East at 6.30pm (23 January).

All secondary schools in the East of England region with media facilities, such as a camcorder and editing equipment, are invited to meet the challenge of producing a short television film for 大象传媒 Look East.

The winning entry will be shown on the programme later in the year and the school will be presented with the prestigious 大象传媒 Look East Media Challenge Cup, which they can keep for the year.

大象传媒 Look East Editor, Dave Betts, says: "It's an exciting opportunity for local secondary schools. Entire classes could get involved in the project as making a film for television requires a variety of different skills, from presenting and editing to writing a top quality script. We hope that there will be something for everyone."

For more details and expert advice on making a film for the competition, watch tonight's 大象传媒 Look East programme or visit .

All the 大象传媒's digital services are now available on , the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well as on satellite and cable.

Freeview offers the 大象传媒's eight television channels, as well as six 大象传媒 radio networks.

The soon to launch 大象传媒 THREE will become available as it goes on air.
