Relief Does Fame Academy
The
Comic Relief 2003 press pack is available below
A class
of celebrity students enter the Fame Academy raising money as well
as their voices for Comic Relief in the lead up to Red Nose Day
2003.
With
programmes across the 大象传媒 - on 大象传媒 THREE, C大象传媒, 大象传媒i and hosted
by Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty on 大象传媒 ONE - the show follows the
celebrity students as they're put through their paces by the Academy's
toughest teachers.
"Any
celebrity brave enough to enter the Academy and face the teachers
must be real fans of Comic Relief," says presenter Patrick
Kielty.
Comic Relief
Does Fame Academy will be shown daily in the lead up to Red Nose
Day on Friday 14 March.
The
celebrity students move into the Fame Academy mansion in North London,
where they will be under the instruction of head teacher Richard
Park, vocal coaches Carrie and David Grant, choreographer Kevin
Adams, personal tutor Jeremy Milnes and music coach Jo Noel.
Their
days consist of gruelling sessions in the dance studios, the rehearsal
rooms and of course, in the limelight.
In
the first show, all the students perform one of their favourite
tracks before the public decide who should win a place at the Academy.
The celebrity with the least amount of votes will not enter the
Academy.
From
then on, the three probationers singing for their survival will
be announced at the end of each live show. The public then have
24 hours to save their favourite student with the remaining two
at the mercy of their fellow showbiz classmates.
Produced
by Initial (part of Endemol UK), Comic Relief Does Fame Academy
is a close-up view of what happens when celebrities have to live
together, train together, sweat together and sing together - all
live on camera.
The celebrity
students will also have lessons with some of the biggest stars of
today who will visit the Academy to hold master classes as the students
train to become the ultimate performers.
Following
expulsion, celebs leave 大象传媒 ONE and head off to 大象传媒 THREE where
presenters Vanessa Langford and Danann Breathnach get the nitty-gritty
on who they liked, loved or loathed at the Academy.
Executive
Producer, Richard Hopkins, says: "We're really going to find
out what our celebrities are made of. Schedules are tough and lessons
are long but there's a real treat in store for the winner of the
public vote on Red Nose Day. Or at least some record vouchers."
Chief
Executive of Comic Relief, Kevin Cahill, says: "Every time
somebody votes to save their favourite student, Comic Relief will
get cash that is helping to bring an end to poverty and social injustice
in the UK and Africa. I can't wait to see what happens in the Academy
and I hope everybody gets voting!"
Comic
Relief Does Fame Academy has been commissioned by Lorraine Heggessey,
Controller 大象传媒 ONE, Jane Lush, Controller of Entertainment Commissioning
for the 大象传媒 and Stuart Murphy, Controller of 大象传媒 THREE.
