Radio 1 announces One Big Weekend line-up

Radio 1 presents the first of its own unique mini festivals in 2003
called One Big Weekends on 3 and 4 May.
This
brand new live music event, supported by Vodafone, will take place
across two days, offering 20,000 music fans the chance to come and
enjoy a mix of world class DJs and live artists, all for free.
The
first event takes place in Manchester's Heaton Park and marks the
official start to the summer festival season.
The
event will be split over two days with Saturdays being dedicated
to dance and the Sundays given over to live artists and bands.
On
Saturday 3 May, Radio 1 has teamed up with Manchester's latest club
success story Good Greef kicking off at 3.00pm until 11.00pm.
The
massive Saturday line-up includes Radio 1's Judge Jules and Fergie,
Eddie Halliwell and Good Greef DJs Rob Tissera, Shan, Alex Kidd
and Adam Sheridan.
On
Sunday 4 May it's a day of amazing live music from a bill of bands
that really matter.
Live
on stage are The Stereophonics, Badly Drawn Boy, Feeder, The Coral,
Aqualung and Dirty Vegas.
Keep

bill to be announced soon. Doors for the event open from 11.30am
until 7.30pm.

2003 Radio 1 raises its game in the form of the One Big Weekend
event with an even bigger and better line-up than ever before.
"Saturday
provides a fantastic line-up of new and exciting dance talent hosted
by Judge Jules and Fergie, with an enviable line-up of bands on
the Sunday reflecting elements of our daytime and specialist output.
"20,000
people will get to experience it all for free, or tune into Radio
1 across the weekend."
The
One Big Weekend ticketed event will be free to attend and 10,000
tickets will be available for each day.
Radio
1 will host two special ticket giveaways in Albert Square, Manchester
to give everyone the chance to get hold of the hottest ticket in
town!
On
Friday 18 April, the ticket office will open from 6.00pm to 9.00pm
to get a free ticket to Saturday聮s awesome dance line-up.
On
Friday 25 April, head down to Albert Square between 9.00am and Noon
to get your hands on a free ticket to Sunday's massive live music
line-up.
