大象传媒 Wales public affairs head moves up to UK-wide role


Manon Williams

Manon Williams - currently Secretary and Head of Public Affairs for 大象传媒 Wales - has been appointed to the post of Head of Public Policy, 大象传媒 Nations and Regions.


She will lead the 大象传媒 Nations and Regions' response to legislatory and regulatory developments across the whole UK.



Manon Williams joined the 大象传媒 in 2000 after working as Director of Communications Services at the National Assembly for Wales during the period of its establishment, as Assistant Private Secretary to HRH The Prince of Wales, and as Head of Press and Public Relations at S4C.


Pat Loughrey, the 大象传媒's Director of Nations and Regions, said: "I am delighted to welcome Manon to this role.


"Her wealth of experience will be invaluable at a time when we are seeking to build understanding of the 大象传媒's increasing commitment to the Nations and Regions of the UK."


Biography


Manon Williams has been Head of Public Affairs Head of Public Affairs at 大象传媒 Wales since September 2000.


Born in Cardiff, Manon was educated at Llanhari Welsh Comprehensive School and St John's College Cambridge, where she was awarded a doctorate in 1990 after undertaking research into medieval literature.


Manon started her subsequent career as Press Officer at Welsh Water plc, becoming Head of Press and Public Relations at S4C in 1991, then spending five years as Assistant Private Secretary to The Prince of Wales at St James's Palace, with a portfolio that included Arts, Health and Heritage.


With her husband (baritone Jeremy Huw Williams) and daughter, she moved back to Cardiff in 1998 to take up a post as Director of Communication Services at the National Assembly for Wales during the period of its establishment.


Manon is Chair of the Prince's Trust (Cymru), and a member of the Arts & Business New Partners Regional Panel.
