Fame Academy today (Tuesday 22 July 2003) revealed the 25 hopefuls
who will battle it out to win one of 13 student Academy places.
Cat
Deeley and Patrick Kielty will introduce seven of the hopefuls on
Saturday - 大象传媒 ONE, 6.30pm - who will each sing live for four Academy
places.
It
is up to the viewers to vote for their favourites and decide who
will make the grade.
Vital
statistics on the first seven students competing for an Academy
place are:
Alistair
Griffin: 25, from Whitby, indie songwriter and busker;
Carolynne
Good: 22, from Leeds, funky, rocky vocalist and songwriter;
Daniel
O'Shea: 20, from York, plays guitar and writes indie-folk songs;
Gary
Phelan: 20, from Newcastle, a guitar songwriter who loves rock;
Katie
Green: 20, from London, pop, rock singer and pianist;
LaDonna
Harley-Peters: 22, from Birmingham, gospel, RnB, jazzy singer;
Louise
Griffiths: 25, from Hertfordshire, a pop singer-songwriter.
Exclusive
footage of the auditions will help viewers make their choice along
with expert opinions from panellists Richard Park (Head Teacher),
Carrie and David Grant (Vocal Coaches) and international superstar
Robin Gibb from the Bee Gees.
Carrie
Grant said: "All 25 hopefuls have already been through so much
to come this far but nothing will have prepared them for their live
performance to the nation.
"It's
a true test of their musical ability, not to mention their nerve."
Live
auditions continue on Wednesday 30 July - 大象传媒 ONE at 8.00pm - when
six hopefuls compete for three Academy places.
These

Magee: 18, from County Antrim;

Anderson: 31, from Surrey;
James
Fox: 27, from Cardiff;
Peter
Brame: 23, from Essex;
Renata
Wilson: 19, from Peterborough;
Terence
Surin: 20, from London.
On
2 August a further group of six will sing live for a further three
Academy places:

Parks: 18, from Cornwall;
Nicole
Davis: 23, from Essex;
Paris
Campbell-Edwards: 23, from London;
Ryan
Fletcher: 20, from Glasgow;
Sally
Dawson: 26, from Yorkshire;
Simone
Stewart: 26, from Middlesex.
On
6 August three hopefuls will win the last places at the Academy.
The
final 13 students will then enter the Academy and begin their gruelling
training and the weekly challenges of probation and singing for
survival.
They
will be chosen from:

McKeever: 25, from County Armagh;
Janee
Bennett: 21, from Greater Manchester;
Lorna
Grant: 20, from West Lothian;
Mark
Vallance: 25, from Birmingham;
Nathan
Thomas: 24, from Hertford;
Nick
Hall: 29, from Birmingham.
The
ultimate Fame Academy winner will win contract with the UK's leading
record label Polydor, the company behind international selling-artists
Eminem, 50 Cent, Sting, Ian Brown, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Ms Dynamite.
They
will also land a show business lifestyle for a year, which includes
a luxury flat, a car, a recording session at Abbey Road studios,
a luxury holiday for two, a personal stylist and VIP tickets to
some of the year聮s biggest events.
