Alec Stewart will join C大象传媒 presenter Angellica Bell and go back to school on Friday 19 March to celebrate the launch of playground markings at Christ Church CE School, Ealing, West London.

Christ Church beat 5,580 other schools to win the national 大象传媒 Sport Kwik Cricket competition last summer. The prize, a set of playground markings, will encourage children of all ages, gender and ability to get active and participate in games and sport.

England and Kent batter Lydia Greenway, who has just returned from a successful tour to South Africa with the England women's team, will also join Alec to offer additional cricket coaching to the winning team.

The schedule for the day includes an introduction to and presentations on the Playground Markings Scheme; a demonstration and coaching session with the children and press interviews with Alec, Angellica and Lydia.

The Playground Markings Scheme has been produced by Highway Safety Systems in association with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

The playground markings are bright, multi-sport targets and markings which transform any outdoor space into an additional teaching facility and are an affordable and cost effective way to encourage children to get active at school.

ECB Facilities Manager, Bruce Cruse, said: "Young children have often drawn a set of stumps on a wall to improvise a cricket match and these markings are one step further.

"We must develop cricket from the playground to Test arena and the children prove that, in the playground, cricket can flourish.

"Cricketers like Alec and Lydia can then show what's possible in the Test arena."
