A new character called Chrissie is to join Albert Square at the end of April and no one is more surprised than Den as we learn that Chrissie is in fact his wife.

Until now 大象传媒 ONE EastEnders viewers have been kept pretty much in the dark as to what he has been up to for the last 14 years in Spain.

But it shouldn't come as a surprise to find that there is a woman behind the scenes... enter Tracy-Ann Oberman.

Tracy-Ann Oberman, 35, trained at the Central School Of Speech and Drama.

She most recently played Kenneth Brannagh's wife at the National in Edmond.

Her career spans 11 years and in that time she has built up a diverse and interesting biography that includes roles in film, radio, television and theatre.

Tracy would be best recognised for her role in Bob Martin (Granada Television) - starring opposite Dennis Lawson, Michael Barrymore and Keith Allen as the cynical, sassy celebrity booker Beverly - and for her role in Casualty (大象传媒).

She is a well established comedy actress and has appeared on the Lenny Henry Show (大象传媒) and Big Train for 大象传媒 TWO with Simon Pegg.

Tracy has also played parts in Kiss Me Kate (大象传媒) and Murder in Suburbia (ITV1).

She is a regular on Radio 4 and was one of the original cast members of the Sony Award-winning comedy show The Sunday Format.

She has just finished a Channel 4 animated comedy series made by Hat Trick Productions playing an Australian teacher called Miss Vixen alongside Doom McKihan and Stephen Marchant (The Office).

Tracy said: "I feel like I'm caught in a whirlwind and my feet haven't even touched the ground yet.

"I auditioned for EastEnders about 10 days before I actually started filming so I haven't had time to think about what this role is going to do to my life!

"I'm very excited to be part of such a fantastic show and one I have been a fan of for many years.

"Working opposite Leslie Grantham is wonderful and the cast and crew have been extremely welcoming and supportive.

"I appreciate all the help and advice that I've been given especially from Letitia, Leslie, Scarlett and Nigel who make up the Watts Family.

"I'm really excited to be playing such a strong female character in one of the best loved British soaps."
