In June 2004,
1Xtra hits Europe for 1Xtra Live's European Tour - a series of
gigs showcasing the best in black music from around the continent.
听
It will be a chance for listeners to hear special edition
shows of 1Xtra Live brought to you by the station's own stellar set
of DJs: Robbo Ranx, Silverstar, Rampage, Ronnie
Herel and L Double.
The tour comprises three dates: Dancehall in Switzerland on Saturday
12 June with Robbo Ranx and Silverstar; Drum & Bass in Spain
on Saturday 19 June with L Double; and finally RnB in Greece
on Saturday 26 June with Rampage and Ronnie Herel.
There will also be an on-line competition where listeners will get the
chance to join 1Xtra Live's European Tour in Zurich, Athens or Barcelona
and compile a 1Xtra fact file.
Executive Producer Of Specialist And Live Events, Ray Paul, said: "1Xtra
Live has brought the UK live gigs from around the globe including Trinidad,
New York, Puerto Rico and Miami and now we feel it's important to reflect
the rich black music scene around Europe.

"These gigs will showcase some of 1Xtra's biggest
DJs and the impact they have on the club scene in Europe."

11.00pm-2.00am, from Club Tonimolkerei in Zurich alongside local DJs
Mikesteez, Abe & Jermaine from the i-am DJ Crew
and Vibes Galaxy.

Saturday 19 June - Drum and Bass in Spain
1Xtra moves to the D&B Weekender at Lloret De Mar, 11.00pm-2.00am,
near Barcelona in Spain. L Double heads up a line-up of 21 DJs including
Friction, Mickey Finn, Andy C and Shy FX along with 10 big MCs like
Shabba, Skibadee, Navigator
and GQ.

Saturday 26 June - RnB in Greece
Rampage and Ronnie Herel host 1Xtra's final date of the tour, 11.00pm-2.00am,
in Athens for a pre-Olympic Summer RnB party at Booty Call at Club Akrotiri
in Kosma.
