music-makers are getting together to celebrate what would have been
the 70th birthday of Elvis Presley - the king of rock and roll.
The unique charity concert - the first of its kind according to 大象传媒
Radio Nottingham staff who are putting the show together - will
tell Elvis's story through his songs.
Leading performers and musicians from around the East Midlands will
recreate his hits from Heartbreak Hotel to the
big rock anthems like American Trilogy in their own personal styles,
in a multi media production.
Among those lined-up to take part are country star Sarah Jory
as well as Rockola, Revival, The Malcolm Lees Ladies
Choir, Sara Knight, Hicksville Bombers, Mick Smith,
Kick 'n' Rush, Carlton Male Voice Choir and The Toothill
Big Band.
Two well-known mystery guests from the show-business world will also
be taking part.
Director Vince Eager, who starred in the award winning West End
musical Elvis, will also be performing in the show.

The Fifties pop star is co-producing the event for
Radio Nottingham with the station's Michaela Atkins.
Vince says: "We would love to reveal the full line-up but we have
been sworn to secrecy."

Happy Birthday Elvis is being staged to raise
money for 大象传媒 Children In Need and is on 18 January 2005 at Nottingham's
Royal Concert Hall.
Michaela Atkins says: "It's going to be a fabulous night - a must
see for all Elvis fans!
听
"It's great because, as well as celebrating what
would have been Elvis's 70th birthday and enjoying yourself on an amazing
night out, you'll be supporting 大象传媒 Children in Need Appeal."
