Radio 2's celebration of songwriting initiative, Sold On Song, is mounting a raft of events during Radio 2 Live in Liverpool, all designed to give an insight into the world of songwriting.

Presented in association with the Performing Right Society is Demo To Limo, a no-holds-barred panel discussion about every aspect of making it in the music business taking place on 5 October.

The competition attracted over 15,000 entries and the 10 finalists include local entrant Gemma Hands.

Sold on Song will be offering help and advice about writing songs, tips on what to do with them once they've been written and giving the chance for budding songwriters to have their songs evaluated by a panel of experts.

Another highlight of Sold on Song from Liverpool is an evening with Ian McNabb, giving a rare chance to hear one of Liverpool's best songwriters in an intimate setting.

Ian plays acoustic versions of his songs and talks about his work, from the Icicle Works to the present day.
