From Barbara Windsor to Adam Bloom, Graeme Garden, Matthew Kelly, Alan Davies and Jo Caulfield, Radio 4 showcases the best in new comedy alongside household names in the upcoming autumn season on Radio 4.

Barbara Windsor presents Grin and Bare It, a fascinating look at the history of bawdy comedy in variety and 'legitimate' theatres on Radio 4 in October.

From taboo innuendo to nudity, find out how a wrong word or flash of flesh in a comedy act could lead to prosecution and censorship even up to the Sixties.

Matthew Kelly features in one episode of Four Sleepless Knights, a new series in the late night comedy slot starting at the end of September.

About A Dog, Debbie Barham's last comedy proposal before her untimely death last year, sees Alan Davies playing a dog in a brand new sitcom told through the eyes of a canine聟

Developed by Above The Title and subsequently scripted by Graeme Garden (The Goodies) from Barham's notes, this inventive comedy explores the unique relationship between dogs and their owners and asks if your 'best friend' has some essential 'doggy wisdom' to offer you.

Jo Caulfield, comedienne and writer of So Graham Norton, turns her attention to the airwaves in her debut for Radio 4 in October from So Radio.

In It's That Jo Caulfield Again, her brand new sketch show, Jo turns her acerbic wit on the irritating things that get under her skin, from hobbies and extreme sports to Information Technology...

Also in October, The News Quiz, Radio 4's topical look at the headlines chaired by the inimitable Simon Hoggart returns alongside The Rapid Eye Movement, the comedy series about a man with a company of actors in his head who perform his nightly dreams.

Other highlights include a return for Adam Bloom's series The Problem With Adam Bloom and brand new comedy from stand-up and comedy actress Brenda Gilhooly in Well, That's One Way Of Looking At It.
