Old Trafford will come to Swansea city centre tomorrow (Saturday 9 October)
following a deal to show 大象传媒 Wales's television coverage of Wales's
vital World Cup qualifier against England live on a giant screen.
In a last-minute deal, the 大象传媒 has reached agreement with Swansea Council
for the screen to be erected in Castle Square, thereby enabling hundreds
of people to watch the big game together live.
The 大象传媒's big screen - measuring 35 square metres - has visited Swansea
before, to show coverage of the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002 and,
more recently, to bring live pictures from the National Eisteddfod,
but the England-Wales showdown is sure to prove even more popular.
Chris Holley, Leader of Swansea Council, said: "This is fantastic news
for Swansea and football fans. The whole nation is waiting for this
match.
"Thousands of fans have been disappointed that they couldn't get
tickets for the match, but they can now enjoy all the big-match atmosphere
in Castle Square.
"It's a great opportunity for football fans to come out and support
Wales and have a great afternoon by creating a party atmosphere."
