Pawel Pawlikowski's My Summer Of Love won the prestigious Alexander
Korda award for Best British Film at last night's Bafta Awards, against
stiff competition from Vera Drake, Dead Man's Shoes, Shaun Of The Dead
and Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban.
Already the winner of the Michael Powell Award at last year's Edinburgh
Film Festival, My Summer Of Love is an intoxicating tale of obsession
and the struggle for love and faith in a world where both seem impossible.
Pawlikowski recently won the Best Screenplay award and leading actresses
Emily Blunt and Natalie Press won the Best Newcomers prize at the Evening
Standard British Film Awards.
In addition, Natalie Press won the British Newcomer of the Year at
the London Film Critics' Circle awards.
"This award is specially pleasing given the very strong competition
this year," said David Thompson, Head of 大象传媒 Films.
"At 大象传媒 Films we have a strong commitment to original voices in
film-making. We are delighted Pawel's film has been recognised in this
way."
My Summer Of Love is a 大象传媒 Films, The Film Consortium with Baker Street
presentation in association with the UK Film Council of a Take Partnerships
production of an Apocalypso Picture.
The film is released in the UK by ContentFilm.
