大象传媒 Radio Cornwall presenters will be putting their best feet forward
in aid of Comic Relief by holding their own Strictly Come Dancing.
On Sunday 6 March at the Hotel Riveria in Newquay, presenters from
Radio Cornwall will be pairing up with their dance partners and going
head-to-head in the dance contest.
Presenter and contestant David White says: "If
it wasn't for Comic Relief you wouldn't see me tripping the light fantastic
on the dance floor.
"This is a one-off opportunity for us all to show off our dazzling
dance moves!"
Each pair will have just a few hours between 10.00am and 2.00pm on
the day to learn their dance routines, which will last one and a half
minutes.
A panel of judges, including Mr Nasty Simon Cowell's brother Tony,
will then award them points.
There will also be an on-air auction to offer the highest bidder a
place on the judging panel.
So, will their salsa be sexy enough or will the waltz wing it?
Find out by listening to Radio Cornwall throughout the afternoon for
live updates.
The assistant editor at Radio Cornwall says: "We wanted to do
something different for Comic Relief and thought this might be a successful
idea."
She continues: "We've chosen the costumes and have laid on cream
teas for an afternoon of ballroom glamour.
"The dancers are looking forward to meeting their partners who
will coach them through the steps and we can't wait to see if our presenters
with the golden voices have golden feet too!"
The contestants are:
James Churchfield- Cha Cha Cha
David White - Quickstep
Laurence Reed - Salsa
Emma Lloyd - Tango
Tim Hubbard - Waltz
The event will take place at the Hotel Riveria, Newquay, on 6 March
