大象传媒 Scotland today unveiled a wide-ranging Election 05 programme schedule, packed with news, specials and analysis.

As the countdown to 5 May begins, 大象传媒 Scotland has finalised a programme offering that will provide its audiences with informative and accessible coverage on television, radio and online.

Over the next few weeks 大象传媒 Scotland will raise the issues that matter to the people of Scotland and will scrutinise the policies of the parties vying for their votes.

The election night special on 大象传媒 ONE Scotland will follow the twists and turns of the final hours in the race to control the House of Commons, bring the poll results from across the UK as they happen and report live from more than half of the declarations in Scotland.

Anne Mackenzie will present the programme with Jackie Bird and Political Editor Brian Taylor completing the studio team.

Anne also fronts a series of live hustings - Election Time - Your Questions - when high profile candidates will be put on the spot by voters.

These will be transmitted on four consecutive nights from Monday 25 April to Thursday 28 April.

大象传媒 Scotland's flagship news programme Reporting Scotland will provide detailed coverage of all the major issues throughout the election campaign and Newsnight Scotland will apply its forensic approach to the big issues as they unfold.

Presenters Louise Stewart and Colin MacKay will analyse the electioneering on the nightly political guide on 大象传媒 Radio Scotland, Politics Tonight, while Glenn Campbell will chair four hustings programmes on consecutive Tuesdays, running for one hour from midday on Radio Scotland, starting in Dundee East on 12 April at the West Park Conference Centre.

The remaining three will be in Dumfries & Galloway, at a venue to be confirmed, in Orkney & Shetland at Lerwick Town Hall, and in Glasgow South West at the Pollok Community Centre.

Glenn Campbell will also host Radio Scotland's coverage right through polling night until Good Morning Scotland comes on air.

Iain Macdonald will travel the length and breadth of the country to find out what really matters to voters, reporting on Good Morning Scotland throughout the campaign.

He begins a weblog from Monday 11 April.

大象传媒 Scotland's News Online will run up-to-date reports on all the breaking political news, detailed constituency breakdowns and analysis from Professor David Denver, the renowned expert on electoral behaviour.

The 大象传媒's General Election website - bbc.co.uk/election2005 - will allow voters to use their postcodes to search for information about constituencies and candidates.

The site also contains up-to-the-minute news, an explanation of the new constituency boundaries and a voters' panel will carry a variety of views throughout the campaign.

Meanwhile all the news and views from the Scottish Parliament - which sits during the House of Commons election campaign - will continue to be broadcast through a variety of political programmes, including Holyrood Live, the Politics Show and Politics Scotland.
