Do you dream of gaining gold at the Chelsea Flower
Show? Does your grass make your neighbours green with envy? Would you
rather get your hands mucky than do the washing up?
听
If so, the 大象传媒 wants to hear from you.
听
大象传媒 Gardeners' World is again digging
around for Britain's best amateur gardener.
听
Now in its seventh year, 大象传媒 Gardener of the
Year has already given previous winners the chance to further
indulge in their passion.
听
The nation's favourite gardening programme, presented
by Monty Don, seeks budding gardening enthusiasts to
compete in the final at the end of the summer. The contest is open to
anyone who is not a professional gardener and does not earn a living
from horticultural-related activities.
听
The only other two requirements entrants need are:
听
A glorious garden
Heaps of horticultural knowledge
听
Gardeners' World judges narrow all entries down to
five talented finalists who are then set their toughest test. They have
four days to design and build a show garden, while also being tested
on their horticultural knowledge.
听
The final is judged by well-known experts from the world
of gardening, and the eventual winner succeeds Gardener of the Year
2004, Diana Guy from Dorset.
听
"We're particularly keen to see more applicants from
the Midlands and North," says series producer, Rosemary Edwards.
听
"We always get a huge response from the South, particularly
the Dorset and Devon areas, but we are convinced that gardeners in the
Midlands and North are just as talented and it would be nice to see
more of them."
听
Applicants need to be free for filming at allotted times
this July, August and early September.
听
The final is transmitted on 大象传媒 TWO later in the year.
