The 大象传媒's New Media team is on the hunt for promising young journalists
between the ages of 16 and 19 to take part in the Blast Young
Reporter Scheme 2005, to work alongside the local 大象传媒 Where
I Live websites.
听
Successful applicants will be given an eight week unpaid work experience
placement, giving them the opportunity to learn more about the 大象传媒 and
expand upon their writing and reporting skills.
听
The rookie reporters will work closely with the teams who create the
大象传媒's Where I Live websites (bbc.co.uk/england) and they'll be required
to work on a part-time basis between July and September 2005.
听
Claire McArthur, Support Manager, English Regions New Media, says:
"The young reporters will be responsible for maintaining a Blast section
on their local website. They will provide weekly updates on any aspect
of the Arts within their area.
听
"We are looking for reporters aged between 16 and 19 from a wide range
of local backgrounds, who feel passionate about the Arts whether it
be hiphop, Bhangra, Bollywood or ballet."
听
Young reporters are required to work on the Where I Live websites from
the following areas: Birmingham; Bristol; Bradford; Cambridge; Coventry;
Cornwall (Truro); Cumbria (Carlisle); Derby; Devon (Plymouth); Essex
(Chelmsford); Gloucester; Hull; Worcester; Jersey; Kent (Tunbridge Wells);
Leeds; Leicester; Liverpool; Lincoln; Manchester; Norfolk (Norwich);
Nottingham; North Yorkshire (York); Shropshire (Shrewsbury); Somerset
(Taunton); South Yorkshire; Stoke; Suffolk (Ipswich); and Tees (Middlesbrough).
