Is it Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, Eric Clapton's Layla or Steppenwolf's hymn to the open road, Born To Be Wild?

Just what is the greatest driving song of all time?

Maybe you consider Oasis' pub rock anthem Rock and Roll Star to be the ultimate, or the altogether more contemporary soundtrack of Bodyrockers' I Like The Way You Move.

大象传媒 TWO's Top Gear returns at 8.00pm on Sunday 21 May and the team need your help in answering the age-old question among motoring music lovers. Just what is the greatest driving song of all time?

Over the following weeks the team need you to vote for the song that gets your motors running, spins your wheels or quite simply takes the stress out of the daily commute.

After the votes are in, a shortlist of the five most popular songs will be drawn up.

Then, over the following five weeks, each episode of Top Gear will feature a film made by a champion urging you to vote for that song.

It could be the artist, a dedicated fan, or a celebrity voter. It all depends on what you vote for.

The winner will be announced at the end of the current series, and the answer to the perennial pub discussion will be answered and the greatest driving song will be crowned.

"It's that moment when you're in your car on a great road and that one song that makes driving in your car just amazing," says Jeremy Clarkson.

"There are obviously hundreds to choose from - I've got my favourites, which the others naturally think are rubbish; but we want you, The Public, to decide."

"We're asking viewers to send in their nominations from which we'll create a shortlist of finalists," adds Richard Hammond.

"Then, during the series, we'll knock that down to one overall winner."

If you're finding it hard to pick just one song, James May has some advice: "Don't just go for the song that you like at the minute," says James.

"Have a good dig around in your memory for that epic moment and that tune.

"It might be some classic rock like Springsteen or U2; it could be power pop from Lenny Kravitz or Sheryl Crow; perhaps a Motown Classic, an RnB hit or one of those fantastic late night driving songs like Riders on the Storm."
